Bananas are fattening
Bananas, like all foods, have the potential to be fattening. They are fattening if they contribute
energy (kilojoules) excess of our body's needs. Because bananas have higher sugar and lower
water content compared with most other fruits, they have more kilojoules than the same weight of
fruits such as apples, apricots, oranges and pears. Nevertheless, bananas can be useful in weight
reduction diets as they have virtually no fat and are filling.
