have multiple risk factors for cardiovascular
disease - Report
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare
bulletin provides a summary of the cardiovascular
disease risk factor profile of Australian
adults e.g smoking, physical activity, fruit
and vegetable consumption, alcohol consumption,
high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol,
obesity and diabetes. Some disturbing findings:
9 in 10 Australians have at least one risk
factor; poor diet and physical inactivity
were the most prevalent risk factors; people
with more risk factors were more likely
to report having had a heart attack, stroke,
atherosclerosis.
