The minerals in our hair reflect our nutritional status
To some extent this is true, but the results of hair analysis need to be interpreted with great care.
The mineral composition of hair, like other body tissues and organs, depends on its nutritional
requirements, its mineral storage capacity, and its ability to take up specific minerals. Therefore
the mineral composition of a tissue or organ is not necessarily a good indicator of overall mineral
status. The mineral composition of hair in particular is influenced by the mineral content of the
atmosphere, shampoos and sprays, and water.
